The four introductory evenings are an opportunity to get acquainted with the form and essence of Chan and Chan meditation in a step by step manner. After a short theoretical introduction we begin
the practice of sitting in meditation, of being aware in silence. To relax the body we do a sequence of gentle exercises. The rituals are explained.
We recommend to participate in at least three of the four evenings.
We repeat the basic forms of meditation as explained in the Introduction to Chan I. We get acquainted with the meditation forms of "Silent Illumination" and "huatou". Following a short
theoretical input we sit in meditation, do gentle exercises and practice awareness.
We address the relation between perspective of Chan and certain aspects of everyday life. Following a short theoretical input we sit in meditation, do gentle exercises and practice awareness.
Basic knowledge of Chan and buddhism or attendance of the "Chan Introduction I" are required.
